Born: Date not known, Place not known.
Died: Date not known, Place not known.

J. E. Anderson published four short articles on the gold fields of Mpumalanga in an obscure publication issued on the Pilgrims Rest Goldfields, the Mines and Claimholders Quarterly, sometime after 1900. The titles are: "Reef Horizon. I. The Language Reef" (Vol. 1(1), pp. 26-27); "Reef Horizon. II. The Dientje Reef" (Vol. 1(2), pp. 27-28); "The Devil's Kantoor" (Vol. 1(3), pp. 28-30); and "The strata of the Pilgrims Rest Goldfields" (Vol. 1(4), pp. 4-8). The third of these presumably deals with the gold diggings at "Duiwelskantoor", near the present day hamlet Kaapsehoop, where gold was discovered in 1882. One further publication by him is known: "Impressions of the Lichtenburg diamond fields", in the South African Mining and Engineering Journal (1927, No. 1858, pp. 259-260).
