Allan, Mr W (Agriculture)

W. Allan, Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Arts (MA), was a senior assistant in the County Works Department of Edinburgh, Scotland, and at the East of Scotland College of Agriculture. He had practical training in farming as well as experience in teaching when he was appointed vice-principal of the College of Agriculture at Elsenburg (near Stellenbosch) in 1907. In January 1908 he became acting principal of the college in the place of J.N. Jack*, and from 1909 to 1912 served as principal.
