Miss J. Marshall made regular meteorological observations in Wynberg, Cape Town, from the beginning of 1876 to the end of 1889, for the Meteorological Commission of the Cape of Good Hope. In 1876 her meteorological station was one of only thirteen reporting their results to the commission. Her station was closed down after 1889. A summary of her results was published annually in the commission's Report. She was probably the daughter of George Marshall of Wynberg.
