J.S. Blackwell reported meteorological observations, made at a second order meteorological station in Salisbury (now Harare, Zimbabwe), to the Meteorological Commission of the Cape of Good Hope from 1900 to 1903. The observations for the next year were made by him in collaboration with T.W. Adam. Blackwell alone then resumed his observations during 1905 to 1907, his station being identified as "Salisbury (Hospital)".
