Simenhoff, Lt-Col Louis (geography)

Born: 12 May 1894, Place not known.
Died: 19 January 1963, Cape Town, South Africa.
Active in: SA.

Louis Simenhoff, school principal, was the son of M.B. Simenhoff, who came from the United States of America. He appears to have been a teacher of geography at the Wynberg Boys' School at some time. He also became a well-known local philatelist who compiled The standard priced catalog of postage and airmail stamps and entries of the Union of South Africa (Pretoria: Philatelic Society, 1930). On 7 January 1924 he married Christina Susanna Magdalena Du Toit.

Simenhoff was the author of Geography of the Barkly West district (Cape Town, 1917, 21 pp).
