Overbeek, Mr J J or J W (insect collection)

Born: Date not known, Place not known.
Died: Date not known, Place not known.

J.J. or J.W. Overbeek presented some insects and other land invertebrates, all from Mossel Bay, to the South African Museum, Cape Town, during 1896-1899. In 1897 his donation consisted of one insect (Order Neuroptera) and four millipedes (belonging to two species, Order Diplopoda). In 1899 he presented five species of Hymenoptera that were new to the museum's collections. The museum's keeper of insects, Dr L.A. Peringuey*, noted in his annual report for that year that Mr Overbeek's advanced age would prevent him from making further contributions.
