Dr G.A. Maynard, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) is named as a member of staff of the Department of Agriculture of the Transvaal Colony and the author of a paper, "Notes on experimental redwater inocculations", published in the Transvaal Agricultural Journal (Vol. 4, pp. 791-794) in 1906. However, no other trace of him can be found and the name may be an error for Dr G.D. Maynard*, later of the South African Institute for Medical Research.
