Robert Linton read a paper on "Zinc dust precipitation at Cerro Prieto" before the Chemical, Metallurgical and Mining Society of South Africa in September 1908 [Cerro Prieto was a gold mine in Sonora State, Mexico]. The paper was published in the society's Journal (Vol. 9, pp. 224-). Although he was not a member of the society at this time, he had become an associate by 1911/2, when he contributed "Notes on the cyaniding of concentrate" (Ibid, 1911/2, Vol. 12, pp. 14-16).
