Charles T. Holland exhibited 18 cases of butterflies, collected in Zimbabwe, at a meeting of the Rhodesia Scientific Association in Bulawayo in April 1900. At a "conversazione" held by the association in July that year he received a prize for his exhibition of Lepidoptera. On that occasion he also exhibited a Tiger Fish from the Zambezi River.
Holland was a leading citizen of Bulawayo and was associated with the Wanderer (Selukwe) Gold Mines, Ltd, which had offices in the Charterland Buildings, Bulawayo. He served as mayor of the town during 1898-1899.
