Hall, Mr Thomas Charles John (meteorological observation)

Died: 2 September 1925, Bedford, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Thomas Charles John Hall, an editor and printer, was the son of Thomas Eden Hall and his wife Louisa. He resided at Bedford, Eastern Cape, where he was an observer for the Meteorological Commission of the Cape of Good Hope from 1892. In 1897 his station was one of those upgraded to second order meteorological stations. He continued submitting his observations for inclusion in the Commission's annual report to at least 1908. From 1913 or earlier he served as a town councilor at Bedford until at least 1918. He was married at Bedford in 1889 to Gertrude Eliza Leonard, with whom he had eight children.
