Mrs Niesje Swierstra, daughter of Jan Kwak and his wife Willempje Posch, married Cornelis J. Swierstra*, entomologist at the Transvaal Museum, Pretoria, on 8 May 1900 or 1901. They had one son and one daughter. In 1906/7 she presented a number of Coleoptera (beetles) and Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) from the Pretoria district to the Transvaal Museum. The next year she again donated insects of various orders, collected in the vicinity of Pretoria. She died aged 32 in 1911.
